Meet Brent Munnerlyn
A dedicated entrepreneur and proud business owner right here in Lexington, South Carolina. With a diverse skill set as a pharmacist, optician, and pyrotechnician, Brent’s journey embodies the spirit of our community.
A true Lexington native, Brent grew up just behind Lexington High School and attended our local schools from elementary through high school, graduating with pride from Lexington High in 1998. He continued his education at the University of South Carolina School of Pharmacy, where he graduated as valedictorian in 2004.
After graduation, Brent returned to serve the residents of Lexington County as a retail pharmacist, gaining invaluable experience in healthcare management. His career path then led him to manage the Health & Wellness business for Walmart in central SC, overseeing a multimillion-dollar operation with a focus on compliance, patient safety, and outcomes.
In 2020, Brent realized his dream of opening My Pharmacy & Optical in Lexington SC, providing essential healthcare services to our community. During the challenging times of the pandemic, his pharmacy has been a beacon of hope, offering Covid vaccinations and tests to those in need.
But Brent’s passion extends beyond healthcare—he’s also known for lighting up the sky with spectacular firework displays. As the founder of Munnerlyn Pyrotechnics, Brent produces some of the most memorable firework shows in our area, including favorites like Lake Murray, the Town of Lexington, Lexington Blowfish and the Lexington County Peach Festival.
Brent’s commitment to our community doesn’t end there. He’s proud to have raised his three children in Lexington, all of whom are excelling in their own endeavors. His daughter Ivy is a theater teacher at Batesburg-Leesville High School, his son Shelton is pursuing a career in aviation, and his youngest daughter Ainsley is aspiring to become an architect.
